Your skin has two archnemeses: aging and the environment. Around 90% of the damage that occurs to your skin is caused by sun exposure. The UV rays the sun emits aren’t even blocked by cloud cover — you get the same amount of exposure on a cloudy or sunny day.

Plus, after the age of 20, you lose one percent of your collagen production every day. Since collagen is one of the essential proteins responsible for keeping your skin youthful and taut, it is nearly impossible to avoid the dilapidation of your skin.

But if your skin has archnemeses, then it also has to have an ally as well, doesn’t it? When it comes to combating environmental and aging effects, HydraFacial treatment at Senza Aesthetic Medicine in Redlands is one of the most effective approaches.

What Is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a noninvasive, nonsurgical approach to improving the appearance of your face that uses a combination of vacuum technology and hydration techniques. When we run the medical-grade HydraFacial wand across your face, a few things are happening: the top layer of dead skin and debris is being removed, your pores are being extracted and your skin is being hydrated and protected.

The combination of these steps provides a substantial improvement to the texture, tone and touch of your skin that is virtually unmatched against any other nonsurgical treatments.

Hydrafacial FAQ's

Am I a Candidate for a HydraFacial?

Yes. One of the biggest perks of the HydraFacial treatment is that there is no limitation to who can use it. It works for all skin types and textures and can address a host of different skincare needs, such as:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Elasticity
  • Firmness
  • Tone
  • Vibrance
  • Texture
  • Brown spots
  • Oily skin
  • Congested pores
  • Enlarged pores

If you are experiencing any of these conditions, then you can benefit from this treatment. While HydraFacial has become a trusted part of many people’s skincare routines, it is important to maintain realistic expectations about what it can achieve.

HydraFacial is not surgery, so you shouldn’t hope to achieve facelift level results since it is better suited for mild to moderate conditions. The best candidates who receive the most substantial results also refrain from smoking and excessive sun exposure, both of which compromise the integrity of your skin.

What Are My HydraFacial Options?

There are three different tiers of HydraFacial treatment that you can choose: Signature, Deluxe and Platinum. Any of these three will provide tangible improvement to your appearance, but if you are looking to add something extra to your regimen, the Deluxe or Platinum might be the optimal choice for your skin.

Signature HydraFacial

The Signature HydraFacial is our entry-level treatment option. But just because it is the base option doesn’t mean that it won’t provide you with results. The Signature HydraFacial still gives you the three-step Vortex technology treatment that completely reveals a new layer of healthy, glowing skin.

Deluxe HydraFacial

The Deluxe HydraFacial package is a step up from the Signature. With the Deluxe, you get everything that you would get from the Signature package plus an additional step that includes a “booster” product tailored to your skin’s specific needs.

Platinum HydraFacial

The Platinum HydraFacial is our highest tiered option for a HydraFacial package. It gives you everything that you would get from both the Signature and Deluxe packages, plus lymphatic massage for the face to detoxify the skin.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a HydraFacial?

After having HydraFacial treatment, you can expect to have a noticeable improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and elasticity, discoloration and pore concerns. This ultimately leads to a more radiant, healthy and youthful appearance.

These results generally last between one and three months, depending on your unique anatomy and how much environmental exposure you have. During your consultation at Senza Aesthetic Medicine, you will work with a medical professional to determine the best skincare regimen.

What Should I Expect from a HydraFacial Procedure?

A HydraFacial treatment can usually be performed in under 45 minutes (perfect for a quick lunchtime touch-up). Generally, the procedure is divided into three steps that help ensure every necessary step is performed optimally and that you are getting the best results possible.

Cleanse and Peel

The first step is a simple exfoliation. The surface of your skin is littered with dead skin cells and other debris that dull your complexion. This top layer of contaminants is scrubbed away through a patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system, and a new vibrant layer of skin is revealed. This process is entirely painless and considered by most patients to feel very comfortable.

Extract and Hydrate

During the extraction process, the HydraFacial wand is simultaneously delivering intense moisturizers that give the skin the materials it needs to glow. The new layer of skin is most receptive to beneficial ingredients directly after being revealed, so this is the best time to flush your skin with as much hydration as possible.

Fuse and Protect

After the exfoliation and hydration processes are complete, the skin will be saturated and fused with protectants that will prevent as much damage as possible in the coming months. This fusion can be customized with an array of different options to best fit your skincare needs.

What Should I Expect During HydraFacial Recovery?

There is no downtime associated with HydraFacial treatment, and you can return to your regular routine immediately after the procedure is complete. Some patients experience mild redness, soreness, or irritation, but these side effects usually subside within 48 hours.

While the skin is most receptive to beneficial additives and moisturizers right after the treatment, it is most susceptible to damage during this time as well. Do your best to avoid sunlight as much as possible and wear sunscreen often when UV exposure is unavoidable.
