Treatment Information
Laser Genesis is a unique treatment that utilizes the Cutera Coolglide Nd:YAG laser system for stimulation of collagen production. This treatment is very versatile because the targeted structure is hemoglobin within the tiny vessels in the deeper layers of the skin (dermis). These vessels are heated up which stimulates the production of collagen because the body thinks it is being injured. Essentially we are tricking the body into a healing mode. The collagen within the dermis is increased and that often translates into subtle improvement in skin texture, pore size, and luminosity. If there is a large concentration of blood vessels in the skin (facial redness/rosacea) they will be heated and injured and subsequently absorbed by the body's clean up system (macrophages). The improvement in redness (erythema) can be significant. Also, scars can be remodeled and their texture and color can be improved with this treatment.
