Intense Pulsed Light Redlands

Treatment Information

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is used for the treatment of unwanted pigmentation on the face, neck, chest, hands, shoulders, arms and legs. IPL can also target unwanted blood vessels and redness on the face, neck and chest. The technology uses pulses of visible light that are attracted to the pigmented lesions and hemoglobin within blood vessels. The targets are heated and damaged and resolve over the course of 5 to 14 days. For patients with diffuse redness and rosacea, the redness or erythema will slowly fade over the course of 3 to 5 treatments spaced 1 month apart. The treatments are quite fast and are easily tolerated without anesthetic. The unique hand piece on the Cutera Coolglide Xeo eliminates the need for messy gels allowing direct contact with the skin. This allows treatments to be performed more efficiently with less energy and much less risk and discomfort.

Combining treatments like IPL with others such as genesis and corrective skin care will increase efficiency and reduce the number of overall treatments.
